    Path reinforcement

    Hi!

Got a question regarding path reinforcement. Is the possible to change the shape of the rebars? As it is now i only have "A" (straight bar) and i want a "B" (90° bar).

Using RST2011 right now, but i haven't found a solution in RST2012 either, if there is one.

    Cheers, Fredrik

What are you wanting to get from your reinforcement? Path and area reinforcement are fairly unintelligent and can not be used for much other than 2D detailing. I would generally recommend using the "Rebar" tool rather than path and area reinforcement for most cases.

To address your question however, in the properties of the path you can choose the start and end hook type....I would check and make sure that you have defined a hook for your bars at the start or end. This will most likely only show in a view perpendicular to your path however...

For most cases i use the Rebar tool. But i thought that i would check out the path reinforcement tool. In this case i need a B-shape (500x500mm 90° bend) at c/c 300mm. The connection is between foundation slab and a concrete wall. And when the shape of the slab is other then a square it's time consuming to use the rebar tool. Draw the shape in section, change layout rule, fix the "path". New section, redo again and so on.

And the hook types isn't relevant in this case.

It would be nice to have an option to layout "Rebar" on a path...would be nice for piers, columns, and odd shaped slabs...

          Exactly!

Can always hope it will come in Revit Extension
