    Export to CAD

I am facing a problem during export to CAD.

I composed a A0 size sheet in Revit. When I export a to CAD the page set up for layout n exported sheet both are different. Also it is coming to custom scale.

So after exporting to CAD need to go page set up manager of each drawing to set a correct paper size and plot scale.

I am attaching a sample test file of revit as well exported cad file.

You can easily check out it.

    Hi Yogesh,
acts the same in my projects, but depending on the plotter by default, you should set the paper size for each page, no?
Personnaly, I plot(ted) in Acad with a window selection; never let the export as it comes.
And now I plot from Revit. or with pdfcreator.
    hope it helps.

      Hi Julien,

Thanks a lot... Actually we have to do submission in dwg and pdf...We are creating a pdf directly from revit. The exported dwg looking differs due to which we are receiving comments...so we need to set each layout properly.

In default plotter I set default paper as A0 but it didn't works. I am not getting one thing why revit taking "Fit to Paper" setting?

I'm not sure it as to deal with Revit. It may come from autocad. Maybe you should look after a lisp to set what you need.
BTW, dwg I get from subcontractors or architects are never perfect (to plot or even to read!!), less than that....so why bother? export dwg are fine if the export setup is correct, let them deal with plotting.
I know 2012 has enhancements about dwg export, but never tested them in beta.
        wait and see.....
        good luck

Yogesh, I can´t open the dwg file (AutoCAD 2011 stopped working after I installed RAC2012)

But how much is the scale off ? If it´s only a fraction, then it might be because of the inacurrancies in the OOTB sheet sizes in Revit - See David Light´s blog post about it.

I've checked with mine (not OOTB), same issue, as far as it is one....

              Default Setting...

              Dear Klaus...
              Thanks a lot.

I am stuck with another issue. Initially on my system default printer was a Adobe PDF writer afterwords I set my default printer to plotter. Then I exported to CAD but still in CAD for page setup manager it takes Adobe PDF. I restarted a system and then checked out it but didn't work. So I had deleted a Adobe PDF and exported again then it's showing NONE for a printer in page set up.

This behavior of Revit really strange....

Do anybody have an idea about setting storage about default printer in Revit... :banghead:

sorry, but aren't you talking about Autocad? this has for me nothing to do with Revit.
