    Electrical Receptacles

Hi im a new member to the forum and i know this question might be easy for you guys/girls to answer so please help me out. Im currently trying to make a family with some kind of parameter for my Electrical Receptacles that will allow me to load my 1 receptacle in and then within the project click my receptacle and in my properties box be able to check or uncheck what kind of receptacle it is....example Duplex,GFCI,Above counter,Quad. Not only will i need to change the annotation of the receptacle but also change its appearance to match what it says. Please help me out!

Do you know how to create annotations and use visibility and yes/no parameters to place those annotations into one family? If so, then make the receptacle annotation family. Then load that family into the 3d receptacle family. Add the <family type> parameter. Once thats loaded, you can specify which annotation type to use with whatever receptacle family type you create.

If you utilize the family type parameter, make sure you set it to be a type parameter. If you want to change it on the fly use the instance option.

    Does that make sense?
