    Stairs and Levels

    Just a question for verification:

Stairs must be constrained to a top and bottom level, correct?

I have a set of catwalk steps 2' high. I created a level (without a plan view) for the sole purpose of creating these steps. I can't do this without creating a level, can I?

Well, on second thought, these steps have "legs" made up of channel on the end to hold them up since they aren't attached to a floor, just a catwalk. That being said, maybe I should just create a step family? Otherwise, how would I show the legs?

No. Stairs are based on a level and can have no top level

      Sure you can.

Yes right. I would definetly create a family for this.

So leave levels away and create a stair as family :-)

Thanks for the nudge in the right direction.

Ahh, just realized how to do a stair with no top level. Set both levels as the lower level, and use a top offset. Duh. lol
