    The ribbon....

Is there a way to change the default selection of the ribbon? For example, I use Reference Plane a lot....when the ribbon changes to the RP tool, the default selection is "draw line". 90% of the time I'll need the "pick line" tool. Is there a way to set the default to "pick line" ?
(It's really no big deal but would save me countless clicks every day)

No way to change the default that I am aware of but if you set up keyboard shortcuts for your contextual tab > pick line command (say, PL) you can simply 'chain; your keyboard shortcuts to get you directly there. So you would type RPPL as your keyboard shortcut and that would activate the Ref plane tool and set the option to pick lines.

You can also put some items in your quick launch that you use frequently...most probably use the keyboard shortcuts however.

In your ribbon simply right click on the icon for example "reference plane" icon.
          Then add to quickbar.
This then shows up on a quick toolbar which should be just below your ribbon. Although you can alter the location of this quick toolbar, I think the default should be below your ribon. I have several items on that which make life easier - align, pen thickness, ref plane for example.

The OP was asking about the default option 'after' the RP tool is selected. If you know of a way to directly assign one of these options I'd like to know.
