    Components Unseen Untill Placed

I have seen this before, but don't really recall what the solution/answer/reason was for it. Some jobs will sometimes change to where when the team goes to place a detail component, text, or similar that it will not show the element until it is placed.

Does anyone know a fix for this? I didn't think I recall it having been a graphics update issue, but with that being said, this computer is not on the most current driver for the card.

    Any thoughts?

I keep running into something similar (or maybe completely different?) -

I'm working on a remodel and regardless of what phase view I'm in families seem to insert in the other phase (existing / new). Not hard to change phases but extremely annoying. I'd be interested to know if it's the same or a related issue or something else entirely.

I am having the same problem with detail components, text and symbols not being visible until placed in the view. Anyone have any suggestions?

i use the copy comand, when you select it and Create similar it wont show until placed, but just place it anywhere, then copy from there and then you can rotate w/spacebar and it will be visible, hope it helps.

Is the active workset set to off by default in the view you are in?

I've been having this just tonight with some light switches. Initially, the default height is above the cut plane, and when I adjusted it to be below the cut plane they would appear - but only when placed. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Bingo!!! I am suprised that would be the cause of my problem since those type of items end up on the "view workset". Now I know for next time. Thanks Scott!!
