    2012 Single Key Entry Shortcuts

Just read an article @ What Revit Wants with a list of top 16 new features.
At number 2 "Single key entry will be first in priority of Keyboard Shortcuts"
Can anyone confirm if this is true ?
If this is true this is a huge bonus.

If it ain't broke, fix it till it is.

You can assign a 1 key shortcut but you have to press "enter" after it to execute it.

I was told that the the one key commands move to the top of the list and take priority over the multi key commands.

pressing enter is going to feel like the old auto cad days.... hahahah

Can we at least smash the space bar?? Does it have to be the enter key?

Way to take a thread off topic guys.

I am up in the air on the "single key" stuff, as the return makes it double key in reality. If I wanted a single key like W for walls, I think WW ends up actually being faster and less frustrating than W Return, or even W space.

Another thing that I am waiting to see the final shakedown on is the great trick about a single shortcut to activate and deactivate a view. In 2011 this works great, in 2012 I believe the space bar is required, which is a bummer. I am a little raw on the subject as I have hated the clumsy way Revit handles this and agitating for stealing the Acad double click in or out of the view approach. So finding a way that is MUCH better via the keyboard shortcut was a godsend. And to effectively have it change again on me just a few months later is a painful thing. Still waiting to verify, and perhaps Scott or Jeff can chime in if they know more there.

But in general the improvements go a long way to be able to share keyboard shortcuts, and especially to export and document them. Once you have a lot you really need a cheat sheet. I am of the opinion that they are only useful for the things I need every day, and once I go to a cheat sheet I have lost any time savings over finding the command in the ribbons, but others in the office swear by em, so the improvements are welcome.
