    [06/2011] - Tilt wall tool

    Applies to: - All Verticals

    New Feature / Problem:
    Tilt / slant wall tool.

Ability to specify angle from 90 degrees/plumb in the Wall Properties,
or specify angle in real-time when live editing.

Why do you need this Feature / Why is it a Problem:
Most if not all of our projects have walls which are at an inclined angle.

In order to create tilted/slanted walls with the current tools we must:

    1. Create a Mass, then apply walls to the surfaces

    2. Create a custom family

Neither of these are a good workflow.

A built-in Tilt-Wall function would be much easier and faster.

    Workflow:
Ability to specify angle from 90 degrees/plumb in the Wall Properties,
or specify angle in real-time when live editing.

    Benefits:
Faster and easier creation and editing of Tilted Walls

Cliff, your walls are all crooked. No mountains for you. Get it fixed this weekend.

We had an architect at my last firm that was noted for saying "square it up"....that meant the design was too expensive if it had anything curved/tilited/angled/etc.

Scott, with all due respect, it´s fair enough if money is the limit, but it´s a bummer when the software becomes the limit

We got slanted columns, and they are almost useless!
Walls are currently pretty easily done with massing so I doubt Adesk will be rushing to add this feature. But it's worth having in the list still

I think that slanted walls are modeled at a very early stage in the design phases. So I agree with the Firm logic when you have to deal with mass to achieve those walls.
