    Generic Model Floor Based Floor

This may need to be in the family section, not really sure..........

Anyway, how do you modify the 10'x10' floor in the family? I can't get it to edit or show any grips. I need it bigger!

And I spelled floor in the title without the R. Great.............

I put the "r" in the title of the thread. That was easy, but I don´t understand the question. Which family and which 10x10 ?

Post the generic model. I am confused on what you are talking about.

He wants to edit the placeholder Floor thats in the Floor Hosted Family Template.

Im not sure you can. You can edit its structure, but im not sure you can access sketchmode of it...

Dan, why do you need it bigger? You can build your floor based item beyond the extents of the "placeholder" floor.

I know I can, but it looks funny as I'm modeling the family. It's not a limitation, I would just like to make it bigger if it's possible. If not, no biggie. I mean, you can make a wall bigger and taller in a wall based family, why not a floor?

Its only there to act as a host for the association of the family. It is strange that you cant change the size of it though. DEAL WITH IT!!!

My SWAG (since i have no clue) is that Walls- being a Draw by Path item, dont require a *mode* to edit their length. Conversely, you cant edit the profile of a wall in the wall hosted template. Likewise, Floors require an "Edit mode" that has no contextual relevance, since "floors" arent really in the family editor.

Revit is funny like that. =)

It might be that the button is supressed from the interface in the Family editor. You might try accessing "Edit Boundary" from a keyboard shortcut whanthe floor is selected. That might work. Not sure and am not working on a PC with Revit installed to test.
