    Keynote tag behave different

Why doesnt keynote tag leader snap at the horizontal or vertical directions as normal tag leaders does? How do you handle this bug? I like to be have horizontal or vertical parallel leaders because it looks nicer. it makes order behind your eyes.

Keynotes snap to other keynotes, just not to other tags and text...

ok. i think i didnt explained very well It`s not about relative align between tags and keynote tags. It`s about makeing the leader articulations to look orthogonal as directions.

I forgot to attach the family keynote with problems. I think the out of box is behave ok.

The out of the box keynote family behave perfect and i think it`s becouse the number and the text labels has the text properties set as centered and middle relative to field of the label. So becouse the fields themself are centered on the family origin you have the "weight" center of the info that could apear in the labels to be perfectly over the family origin.

In my keynote that it is attached i made the field of the labels to be also centered but I`ve made the text properties from the labels to be top and left aligned.

Try to use it by keynoting by text and see if you can make a the segment that is linked with the text lto stay aligned on vertical directions. If you have a text description that wrap on two rows you will also have problem with the aligning on the orizontal direction with that segment.

Better to try and see. I`ve tried to move things in the family but not a success as long as my text is stayed top and left aligned (as i`m use to). The normal tags are behave ok not the keynote tags.

Here i put some observations that i think create this bad behavior (not need to read if you didn`t tested the attachement):
When you insert in a project and choose to keynote by text (or by number) you will see that the leader doesn`t touch the label in the middle of the field but in the middle of the content of the field. So if my content (the info) is left aligned then the leader go to the middle of the info....but this does not coincident with the snap behavior that is in the middle of the field. So you can`t snap to an orthogonal look with both leader segments.

Ooooohhhhhhh. Yeah. Theres a workaround. Play with this for a few minutes. Trick it in to thinking the leader is at the *center* of the note, LOL.

Its obnoxious to look at when you select it, but it looks fine the rest of the time.

        Enjoy!

ohhh... the invisible lines i forgot about this trick Thank you You forgot to add the text type in the family (so you cand display the text label). I added it and make it left and top aligned. Reattached. And it`s almost perfect. Just i couldn`t have the leader only on vertical directions. See printscreen picture. Anyway I can allways use a 90 degree angle on leader segments and ajust a little the end of the leader by dragging it, so I`m happy with that. Thx for the help

ah, i have to spred some reputation around before give you again

Then i must have sent you the wrong one, because ours has the options in it for the text type... There were two labels in there. If it was the current one...

the labels were there just the type for the showing the text were'nt. Any way I point that out just to avoid confusion to users that download the family. This issue before your trick was the only thing that was stopping me to switch to a keynote tagging instead of normal tagging ( the problem with normal tagging is that you can't tag some kind of things ex: soffis fascia etc) So if the keynote sistem allow me to tag everything, I will use it.

Oh... I probably dont have the types built in there, since that component is laoded directly in our template already, so no one ever uses the family for anything, LOL.
