    Split sloping beam into 2 beams at column location

    Hi, I'm new to Revit Structures and currently on my 1st project, I'm sure I'll have many questions! I have a steel frame with sloping beams. I have a column roughly at the midpoint of my sloping beam, I'm looking to split this beam into 2 beams at the column location and have the column extend up to the top of the beam. When I use the attach column to top/base and split the beam, I can't get the beams to trim to the column correctly or for the column to extend to the top of the beams, it just stays down at the underside of the split beams.

    Can anyone advise if there is a quick way to do this?

    First, when you attach your col to the beam it will attach to the bottom. Remove the col attaching to the beam and input the TOS for the col manually. Then re snap your beams to the top of your col. Now your col will pass by your beams and your beams will attach to the col.

      Thanks for your response. This has fixed my problem. Thought there might of been a command to do this for you rather than manually inputting the levels.
