    Section Mark added Text

I would like to copy the OTB section mark and add a label/text to it. I would like to be able to type in what I would like it to read at the time of cutting the section or be bale to add/change or have no text at a later time (I do not want it refernecing anything else - just to have it as editable text or to have no text).
I tried adding a label and putting in the parameter but I do not see anywhere I can add a new parameter.

I think you can do it by nesting a generic annotation... I'll test it tomorrow.

Edit: Sorry, you can't add shared parameter in a view title category...

First, I was not even talking about the right category :hide:

Second, I just found a way to do this...
Here's how you can make it work :

      - Take your original family and copy it. Open it.
      - Go to Family Category and Parameters and switch it to wall tag (it will allow us to add a shared parameter)
      - Add a Label, On left bottom corner of "Edit Label" Window : Add a parameter. (see FIrst Attachment)

Here's the tricky part. select your label you just created and cut it (Ctrl+X or Cut to clipboard from clipboard panel)

      - Go to Family Category and Parameters and switch it back to Section Mark.
      - Now from Clipboard panel : PASTE --> ALIGNED TO SAME PLACE. You now have a custom shared parameter in your Section Mark!
      - Insert it in your project and apply this family to a section mark type.
      - From your Project, Go to Project Parameter and pull your freshly made shared parameter. Apply it to VIEWS by instance.

I took the idea from that post but I tried with a shared parameter...

Limitation: Shared Parameter is not propagated if you are using a view reference (section, detail, elevation)

      There you go!

      EDIT :
      - Note that this workflow also works for View Title, Callout Heads and Elevations Marks.
      - You can also add the "View Name" Label for View Reference. To do this you have to start from the section marks category.
      - If you're doing the workaround for a View Title (ex. add another title to your view). You will need to refresh your view title to refresh the parameter. You can do this by changing temporarily the family in your View Title.

 Liking the idea of extending the singular "Title on Sheet" parameter of view titles to enable a sub-title functionality.
