Viewport cropping - Not cropping correctly

    (First Post)

I'm having a slight issue with view cropping (I assume).

I have created a co-ordination view of all MEP services per floor, then created dependent views of each room this co-ord view.

Once I have cropped to a room it looks great, to size. Then when bringing into my sheet another black border comes around the view...

From the attached images can anyone tell me how to reduce/remove this black "border" as it has a impact on when plotting. Any help would be great

What are your printer settings? In the dialog you have the ability to print Centered or Offset from Corner, and Fit to Page or Zoom.

Does it not go away when you click outside of the box?

The black box is the extent of the viewport, and it should be there. It being too big, however, is an issue I've come across, especially when working with linked models. What I've typically found is that the 3D extent of some element (be it grids, reference planes, invisible line tricksssss) lies very far outside of the crop region. I have never been able to reproduce the error, and sometimes is just one floor plan, and sometimes the whole building is doing it.

I'd suggest you turn the linked grids, levels, and reference planes off in that view, and see where that gets you. As for printing, make sure you have it set up properly like Chad said. I don't think I've ever seen this issue affect printing before.

I've changed the settings to - Fit to Page & Centered and this seems to work. Many Thanks

It does go away when I click away from the viewport. But it didn't fix the issue, I think it may have been the post above regarding the print settings. Thanks for the post

I assume you've already checked the Annotation Crop size?

Yes crop size all checked. I think the issue was with my printer settings posted by 'Cellophane'.

Regarding the black box around the viewport, I think it has something to do with my building layout. The East wing is set at a 25degree angle, so I rotated the viewport 25degrees to compensate, thus making the gridlines etc go off sorts.
I will post another thread regarding this (another problem I have)

    Thanks all
