Thread: How would I "duplicate" the way a sheet has been set up, for another project?

    I wonder back when the automobile first came out, if there were people who insisted it be pulled by a horse for "company standards". Trying to make Revit look like AutoCAD is very similar.

    Excellent analogy!
    I do have one minor quibble, though.
    I have no problem with trying to make your drawings LOOK like AutoCAD.
    The problem arises when you try to make Revit WORK like AutoCAD.
    BIM really does require a different mindset than CAD. There are trade-off to be made, and when you're getting started, you have to decide what's more important - how it looks vs what information are you putting in & how many different ways can you get it out.

    Take Door Schedules for example.
    You could choose to get frustrated over the fact that you can't left-justify the header, or that you can't add a picture of the door.
    Or, you could choose to say "Holy crap! My schedule is 75% complete just by placing the doors on the plan." And the Elevation. And now you have a 3D view which couldn't even DO before.
