Fixture Units Updates after updating units in families

I'm having an issue regarding fixture units with some families. I have a lavatory family that has 2 different types of fixture units. One has 3 HWFUs and another has 5 HWFUs. When I connect multiple fixtures together and tag the pipe, I get the correct fixture units, but once I change the family type from 3 HWFUs to 5 HWFUs, the pipe fixture units/tags don't automatically update. The fixture units/tags will update if I disconnect the piping and reconnect it to the family, but then might not continue down the piping line unless I delete and reconnect the piping with new fittings. I feel like it may have something to do with the connectors on the family and elbows. Has anyone else had a similar issue?
    Thanks

I've just encountered this very same problem. Is there a way to re-scan the system rather than disconnect and reconnect the pipe to the fixture?

You can try changing the Calculations setting, change it from what it is now to one of the other choices and then back to Flow (which is the only one which will do the calculations). That should wake it up.

You can also adjust one of the connected pipes or add one to it temporarily and that will cause the system to recalculate. FWIW, I noticed that a Piping Systems schedule calculates immediately as changes are made. A schedule of Pipes and tags attached to Pipes don't.

    I'm using Revit version 18.1.1.18 - 20170907_2315(x64) - 2018.1.1

I since made the connector parameter instance based, and this allows for live updates. Its not the best solution as Type based would be the best for maintaining accuracy, although i have made a schedule that allows for quick editing of the instance parameter.

I'll give your method a try now though.

    Cheers!
