To create a new pipe type, just duplicate a built-in type, then go to Routing Preferences and change your pipe material there. If you need to add a pipe material, go to Mechanical Settings, then Segments and Sizes.

You actually have to create them or download them from somewhere like Charlotte Pipe. Under the Pipe Settings of the MEP Settings, there are pipe segments already created which you would use in the pipe routing preferences of the new pipe types created. When it comes to downloading from Charlotte, keep in mind, you should download the fittings and place the lookout tables that come with them in your lookouttable folder. Preferably a network location. Hope that helps.
