    Pipe fittings with voids

I'm currently revisiting some of my (copper) pipe fittings to include sockets. Most of the pre-existing fittings that I'm adapting from use voids to model the socket. I've figured that having these voids would be needlessly resource-heavy, so I've deleted them (to just have a solid extrusion represent the socket). However, now I'm thinking (slightly worried) that having the fitting geometry intersect with the pipe geometry might cause some issues. Does anyone have any experience with this or know if the intersecting geometry might cause issues?

Intersecting fitting and pipe geometry doesnt cause any problems as far as I know, but if you want correct pipe lengths you should put the connector where the bottom of the socket would be, even if you havent modelled the hole. If the connector is on the outside face of the socket extrusion then the pipe stops there without the bit inserted into the fiting.
Might not matter but it all adds up in a project if you want to get a total length.

I have the connectors at the bottom of the socket (that would be weird if you didn't...), I just don't want to have to account for the inside diameter of the cup if I don't have to. But Revit is sometimes anal about things intersecting
