    Quadrant Profile.

    Hi All,

Need some help in preparing this parametric family as given in the image.

I have extruded a quadrant however the profile is not exactly as the radial bend (150 dia pipe).

My requirement was the quadrant on the pedestal is supporting a pipe from the level below.

Thanks for your time in advance.

How did you determine the radius of the support?

The radius of elbow drives the radius of the quadrant support.

If you are using the center line radius that is too small. It should be the outside radius.

Yup that's correct, the elbow is supported from outside.

Please verify that is what you are doing or if you need help doing that.

The image that I have attached is a section view. The quadrant on the pedestal is supporting the elbow from outside and matches the same profile as of the elbow.

Acts like a bed and supports the pipe . Hope this helps.

Nope. I don't know what the question is.

Family 1) Create a profile family, with a parameter for radius. This will be the arc that will serve as a bed to embrace the pipe.

Family 2) In a generic model family, in an elevation view, create the support above the pedestal as a sweep. Make the path with a radius parameter. Then use the profile that you did in step 1 as the profile for the sweep. The profile's radius parameter should be associated to a parameter in family 2.
In the project, you should have control over the radius of the profile and the radius of the path of the sweep.
