    Trouble with Mechanical Schedules editing

I am a newbie to revit and I have created several mechanical schedules (revit 2019) so far. However i am having difficultly updating some of the information about my items in the schedule. for example in my Exhaust fan schedule, i have brake HP, Volume (CFM), Total Static Pressure, and Voltage listed in my fields. I have tried to input values into these fields both in the Schedule and in the Families, but i can't seem to figure out how to do this. I think, somehow i need to get into the families and edit them somehow. Just have not gotten there yet.
    Thanks

1st question is: Are those parameters actually in the families you want to schedule? (or project parameters should work too...)

2nd question is: Are those parameters shared parameters? This is how Revit works to share/view information between the families and the model. To find this out, edit the family and then go into the family types dialogue and edit one of the applicable parameters under parameter type the shared parameter option should be selected.

If you can't edit a parameter in a schedule for a given family/object then it is indicative that that parameter is not actually in the family. Blank cells for parameters that aren't text-based should never be blank as they always default to a zero value.
