    Parameters: LoadBearing, IsExternal and FireRating

Parameters mentioned below here, are those parameters for architectual and constructural parties only or also for us MEP folks?
    - LoadBearing
    - IsExternal
    - FireRating

LoadBearing: do I need to use it for example for foundation underneath mechnical components
IsExternal: do I need to use it for example for structural openings (recess) in the thermal peel
FireRating: do I need to use it for example for the fire dampers en recesses

As far as i'm aware those parameters are typically for filtering data. I see no reason you couldnt use them but id first check that other disciplines arent using them for critical information to avoid overlapping.
Or you could just use your own custom parameters.

It's not that I want to use those parameters, but more likely DO I NEED to use those parameters?
The info in those parameters is no info we work with, but thought maybe other parties need this info.

Depends on how strict the other parties are working with ILS and the possibilities in Navis/Solibri. Not including those parameters in your elements will flag your model as non-compliant in ILS checks.

Don't forget you can 100% use your own parameters there and map them to the right IFC properties in the export.

(For other people: ILS is a Dutch protocol for IFC coordination between parties)

Thank you Bjorn, I am going to build them in into my families.
