Creating a slope with a simple extrusion family

    Good day Family creators,

I've been looking to create a simple extrusion with a slope on the bottomside.
From all the forums and videos that I looked up, none gave me a satisfying answer.
I also contacted the stabicad helpdesk with the same question but I doubt they can give me a proper solution for my issue.

I've created a couple of Reference Planes and a reference Line for the angular parameter.
Then I added the formula 'Atan(Rise/...mm)'.
I tested if the slope worked and it does. But as soon as I make an extrusion and lock it on the reference planes and line I get the well known error 'Constrains are not satisfied' when I change the slope steepness.

Could you maybe tell me what i'm doing wrong?
A little help would be greatly appreciated.
    The family is attached.

    -Michael

Looking at your family I see that you did not lock the sloped line of the extrusion to your ref line. After doing that it works fine for me.

oh and welcome to the forum of course!

    Thank you!

Strangely enough it still doesn't work. I indeed forgot in my haste to lock the Reference Line to the Reference Level.
I went on and did that, drew the extrusion and locked it to all Reference planes and the line that I needed.

Then changed the angle of the Slope parameter and it still gives the error..

Very weird, I opened up your family and took a look.
I noticed that the Reference Line wasn't locked on the reference level?
Basically all you did was lock the bottomside of the extrusion on the reference Line and it worked? Because when i do the same it still gives an error..

I think i'm missing something here

Yep, that's all I did. Does the family I edited work for you?

Tried to edit all the parameters and no problem
Tried it in a project as well and all is OK there too.

    Mysterious...
Yes your edited family works as i want it to work.
When i do the exact same thing it comes up with 'constrains are not satisfied..'

Tried making an entire new family and it once again gives the error...

This is very frustrating.. I've been trying anything I can think off but nothing seems to work..
Would you be so kind to describe it to me step by step what you did exactly? Because I truly think i missed a very important small thing.

I've found it best to constrain the reference line to your reference planes as required, and make sure to constrain the shape to the reference line.
