Masking Region in electrical fixture not working?

My focus in Revit has been purely architecturally based to this point so sorry for my ignorance See attached family. I'm unable to get a masking region to mask anything...is that just how electrical fixtures work or what gives? The question came across from one of our newer techs as to why those don't mask and I immediately jumped on the task as it seemed like a simple fix... but I can't seem to get it to work. Please provide any guidance possible. Thanks for the assistance!

No comments on this? Is the family "broken" or is this how masking regions perform in electrical fixtures? Seems like it should be an easy fix???

Are you talking about walls/ elements from the link showing through your MEP elements? That's kind of a "Feature" of Revit, meaning you will have to live with it for the time being...

This is a result of Detail Items being a non-MEP element...for some reason. In my opinion, it's an oversight by Autodesk and should be fixed. I created a Revit Idea for it a while back, but it seems like it's almost something that most just ignore or don't even realize is a thing. Anyway, hoping to get more traction on it and maybe it'll get implemented so we can actually build some families that mask things.

If you change your view to any non-MEP discipline it'll show the mask and work just fine

Is it accurate to say that you are discussing dividers/components from the connection appearing through your MEP components? That is somewhat of an "Element" of Revit, which means you should live with it until further notice...
