    Taco Pump Family Broken?

Downloaded this from SEEK and I am not seeing anything change when switching types. It's in 2013. I want to use it 2016. Tried it in 2014 with no difference.

    Is there an easy fix?

Almost all parameters have the same values for each type, except e.g. Fixture Material. That is why you can't see any change. Names of types suggest they are essentially the same geometry with only minor differences.

I saw that, too, but I didn't see the material changing.

Someone else mentioned I might need a "catalog" file?

If you have got a type catalog (it should be listed as a part of download on Seek) then you should load a family via ribbon and do not drag it into Revit via explorer.

It doesn't seem to be available for this pump but other Taco pumps do have them.

You can try to go to manufacturer's site, grab data for this pump and create your own catalog:
-open a family, R>Export>Family Types., this will give you a starting point
-open a txt file in Excel, type in values, save a file as txt and put it in the same catalog with your family
Now you will be able to load a family using your type catalog.

I wish I had the time to do that and learn a bit while doing it. I just whipped up a very basic family (two cylinders, two connectors, and a symbol) for the type I need until I can come up with something better.

    Thanks for the help.
