Hiding 3D object in Plan view not working

    Hi everyone,

I am currently working a summer placement and am fairly new to Revit, but I am the only one who really uses it here so there is no one I can ask upon.

I currently have a loaded family made by another company and I am trying to attach an annotation and make the 3D object invisible in the plan view. When I select the family, edit visibility/graphics Overrides and uncheck plan/RCP but the 3d object still appears in the plan view. I've tried drawing just a simple model line adjacent to the object and unchecking all visibility settings (Front, back...) but I still see the line in the plan view so I am stumped. I don't want to load it into a new family since I'm not sure if that's allowed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you selecting the family, or the element in the family? Are you sure it's a 3d element you are seeing and not a masking region? It often ends up being faster and more productive to create a needed family yourself, rather than get content from a manufacturer.

You would have to uncheck visibility in plan view for every extrusion in a family, also these 'hiding' in groups (edit group).

I have tried selecting every extrusion and editing the visibility but nothing seems to happen and there are no families which are editable. I'd prefer not having to recreate all of the symbols from scratch since I would probably miss some important information presently on the model, but if it cant be helped.

Hi everyone, the solution turned out to be quite trivial. I expected the 3d to be invisible in the ref level in the family view as well as the project view. Some stupidity on my part
