Issue orbiting family in project - Long connector extents in array based family types

    Hi,

I have created a water manifold face based family that has 9 different types, each type relates to the number of ports on the manifold, from 2 to 10. To achieve this I made the extrusion representing the first port into a group, then I arrayed the group. The number of ports for each type is controlled by an Array Number parameter.

I am having a peculiar problem when I load the family into the project environment. As shown in the jpeg attached, the connectors are extremely long. This occurs in 8 of the 9 types. It does not occur for the 10 port manifold. This is causing me issues when using the orbit tool with the family selected, as Revit is selecting the pivot point for the family based on the centre of the extents (which is including the long connector elements).

The length of the connectors appears to be based on the elevation of the family in the project – the connectors reach down to a specific elevation regardless of the elevation of the family – ie the connector length is variable based on the family elevation.

Please see the attached image of the correctly working 10 port manifold, and two images of the incorrectly working 5 port manifold at different elevations.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how to fix this? I am guessing it is something to do with the extents or the use of the array?

    Thanks!
