how to swivel connections in Multibody part

    Hi,

I posted the question at the other family group, but its more for MEP actually.
In short, is there a way in a multisolid-import to change the angle of 2 solids via angles. These solids would be the inlet/outlet connections for chillers. Anything else in the geometry would stay the same.
The idea is, if I swivel the connections, all the conditions would hang on the connection (flowrate etc).

Or would I have to make one model per connection layout?

    Cheers,

    Steffen

I did this with a nested family for connectors.
Make a new family with a ref line that rotates around the origin in the horizontal plane.
Then set the vertical plane of the first ref line to be the work plane and add another ref line that rotates vertically.
On the second line make an extrusion for your connector/pipe.
If you have the two angles and the diameter of the connector controlled by instance parameters, you can load this family into your main family and control everything by linking the parameters.
Place your connector on the extrusion in the main family and it will move with the nested family when you change the angle.
