Downloaded family not allowing parameters to be added

I'm trying to add another parameter to a family i downloaded. However, when i tried I got this message "invalid input for assembly code: please enter a valid assembly code". This is astronomically irritating. I got this family from a suppliers website, so is it possible they lock their family so nobody can make changes to it? If so, can i somehow "break" the invisible lock they placed on the family? This makes it very hard to use the family in the correct way and have what i want on the schedule. Any input will be appreciated.

Remove the value for the assembly code parameter that's in the family. It's likely not a code the program recognizes so it won't allow edits to the family parameters until the issue is fixed.

I 2nd what Andrew said. Just remove the information in the value column for assembly code. If grayed out, remove it from the formula column, than the value column.
