    RFO Benchmark v3.1

    Well, after a long, busy summer, RFO Benchmark v3.1 is finally here. My apologies for the delay. Next year... fewer changes!

    This v3.1 benchmark changes a few things you should be aware of.
    1: Additional GPU testing options now allow detail heavy/large model testing.
    2: The Standard & Expanded GPU tests now compare Sketchy and non-Sketchy views for both the regen and view cube tests. The Simplified test does only includes standard views.
    3: Graphics without Hardware Acceleration has been moved to a standalone GPU only test.
    4: Improved reporting of Revit build information.
    5: Test resources are now copied to a dedicated folder for processing, so multiple machines can be benchmarked from a network RFO benchmark folder. This facilitates benchmarking en mass.
    6: Various performance issues have been addressed, mostly related to how long the benchmark takes to run, not the actual Revit processing performance.
    7: The bug related to unzipping with 7ZIP has been addressed, however, the best unarchiving approach remains simply right clicking the ZIP file and choosing Extract All, thus using the built in Windows UnZIP capability.


    As always, comparisons cannot be made between v3.1 and earlier versions. And it's worth the reminder, while comparisons of results reported here at RFO are interesting, and often entertaining, this is not appropriate data for purchasing decisions. To use RFO Benchmark for meaningful comparisons you need to ensure consistent test conditions with no extra software running, identical screen sizes, etc.

    So, I finally made time to finish this beast up. Sorry for the big delay. There was a LOT of under the hood fixes/changes this year, in both the PowerShell code and the Journal files, and this summer has been the busiest I have had in 10 years (woot to that!). I am making a promise to myself and everyone else now, there will NOT be so much change next year. My hope is that the journal files are now very stable, and next year we can simply add a 2019 suite and be done. time will tell.

    "Could not load module" error

    Great tool. Going to be busy benchmarking at work!

    Just a quick tip for those who are getting the "Could not load module" error: Navigate to the Resources folder, right-click on the file "RFOBenchmark.psm1" and select Properties. Then click on Unblock and the script should run. (This applies to all versions).

    Also, you can unblock the ZIP file prior to unzipping, and all contents will also be unblocked.

    Hi, I am new. I did a google search for Revit Benchmarking that lead me here. I am not a Revit Ninja. I literally install it and patch it. I am using a Dell R730 running XenServer with some Nvidia cards and a issci back end tied to my SAN. The Revit Ninja's connect remotely via Citrix .ica. I want to test Revit 2016 and separately 2017 between SSDs on the server versus my SAN. Is there a benchmarking "profile" that I can use for this type of setup?

    Hello - new to the group so here goes. Run my first test this morning and these are the results. Not real sure how to read this - How does it look? what test should I run next? If I would save this folder on my network drive would the test still work? (this would be where we save all our Central Revit files.)
