Revit Eats up Huge amounts of Memory To a complete Stall

    Hi all,
I'm Using Revit Architecture 2013, after I open a VERY simple 5MB project in revit, it starts to eat up my memory starting from 300+ MB up to 7~9 GB in just one hour of very simple work, and finally slows to a drag and crashes reporting I'm low on my system memory. I've seen other threads pointing at 20xfile size memory usage by revit, but that is not my case because the total amount of files i opened were 20 MB, thus needs a 400+MB memory, but revit gets over 7 and up to 9 GB.

I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 with core i7 laptop
    With 16GB RAM
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M

    Please Help.
to see how the memory is used up, look at these task manager snapshots taken every 15 minutes working on two files, one 5 MB and the othe 15 MB:

then after some 40 minutes, without opening any new or large files:

there's a copy of the journal files attached
BTW I'm an expert Autocad User, But A rookie in Revit.

    a couple things

First is you are using revit 2013 you will not be able to open files off any of the newer versions of revit 2014 and up

Adesk won't help you with this problems as it is more than 3 releases from the current version

if i recall correctly this was a problem with 2013 and the amount of resources it uses which was cleaned up some in later releases however Revit will always use more resources than acad

I would verify that you have the most current update for Revit Architecture 2013:
    RAC 2013 Service Pack 3 (UR3) 12.11.10090 20130531_2115
