My guess is that, since this is using the integrated GPU, you will need to use this trick to enable hardware Acceleration, at which point the journal should complete, and Revit will be substantially more usable. The link relates to Revit on the Mac, but this applies to any situation where Autodesk has not bothered to validate the hardware. There are LOTS of GPUs that are just fine (especially given how little GPU horsepower is actually used by Revit) but that get disabled since they aren't verified.
I've change the file's extension per the trick and will run the benchmark tonight. Will report back tomorrow on results.
Sorry to report but this "hack" did not work for me. Still looks to be looping. Properties menu is completely blank and worksharing and design option viewport widgets are flashing. But no modeling going on for 5min. so I "Exterminated! Exterminated!"
Now the It department needs the surface book. So if anyone has a similar one I would love to see you times.
Tangyang, are you able to work in Revit "manually", and only the benchmark isn't working? And if you can, can you verify if hardware acceleration is enabled or not? If the GPU really can't handle hardware acceleration, the journals will fail because all but the one Non HA Graphics test assume HA. Personally I would consider not supporting HA to be a deal killer, but lots of offices still kill HA, so perhaps I need to find a way to allow the benchmark to run with no HA. Performance will suffer, but that's the point of the Benchmark, to show "real world" performance as much as possible.
So why would I have been able to benchmark a surface pro 3 without playing around with the GPU or HA. It just ran. Sure it is not something else with windows 10?
It could be. Indeed, it could be a Windows 10 driver issue somehow. I need to do some testing this weekend, both Windows 7 without the XML hack, and if I can make time, Windows 10. But being on a VM makes my testing somewhat limited. I may be asking for a GoToMeeting with someone who has Windows 10 to try to troubleshoot this. And Buying a NUC soon to extend my testing.
Give me a couple days notice i might be Gotomeeting with you.
