Morten, and anyone else having issues with the v2 benchmark, please PM me at your convenience and we'll set up a time for tomorrow or Wednesday to GTM and sort things out.

    Thanks!

It will be a while: The screaming laptop is coming when Employee Number 2 "officially" joins (and since people in the rumor mill always talk, its NOT Alison...), or when a project warrants it. The HP ZBook i have currently is more than fitting the bill for what i am working on right now, and getting the Synology up and running is the first task. I just learned how to expand the Synology top 16GB of onboard RAM, so thats this weekends task. =)

I'm trying to test the benchmark on a SurfaceBook i5 with dGPU 8GB RAM and 256 SSD. This PC is running Windows 10, and only has v2016 of Building Design Suite Ultimate installed.but can't get it to run even the 'Simplified' version....I only have the SurfaceBook on loan for the rest of today and would like to get an idea of how it performs with this benchmark. Will the old version of the 2015 test work in 2016 on Windows 10?

    Gordon,

I tried this yesterday with a freshly imaged Dell M3800 running win10 and it wouldn't run one of the Journals. Specifically it stopped somewhere in the midst of 1-RFO_Benchmark_v1_Journal_2016_(Model_creation).txt while editing one of the groups. It drops into interactive mode at that point and I'm figuring it will fail the whole thing but continues with the next journal after I kill revit. Revit 2016 R2 (fresh install) and Revit does launch without issue.

    Any ideas?

    Tom,
you need to use the kill script or it will keep processing journals. I looked for a way for the script to effectively be its own kill switch, but Powershelgl can't spawn a completely independent monitoring process.

I'll be looking into this dropping in to interactive issue next week. I have some other stuff that needs to take priority, but I have to make time for some benchmark work on Friday.

    Hi, Gordon

Benchmark worked for an hour and a half, and spit only this (plus error code that fabiosato already submitted):
    Code:

That's my decimal bug. When your machine is set to use the European format (#.###,00) rather than the US format (#,###.00) the code barfs when trying to do math on the results. I had initially tried to change the machine settings before the test, then change them back. But I don't like that because a terminated test could leave the machine configured wrong. Now I am looking for a way to either force PowerShell to do the math with European decimal delimiters, or do some sort of find and replace to convert to US delimiters, then do the math, then switch back for display. Pretty sure PowerShell is internally a US format only situation, so I am playing with the conversions approach on the flight home. But a little research today says that there is another format I need to look for (# ###,00). So, yeah, I am getting an education on global maths.

EDIT: Seems it might not be that simple, or at least I might not be on the right track. Can you maybe run the test again, and once the graphics test starts, grab a copy of the temporary output file and email it to me? Then I can be sure I am working from actual raw data that is misbehaving. Thanks!

    Gordon
