Lightbulb building a new workstation - need some feedback on gpu

    Hi there,

First of all i'm new in this forum (I'm from France so I apologize for my poor language), I work with revit architecture since 2010, and I've had the pleasure to work with it in different firms.

I was hired recently by a firm who wishes to switch from autocad to revit, and so my boss asked me to buy some new workstations for a 2k€ budget.

Since I have substential knowledge in hardware, I don't have much problem with it except with the GPU, since compatibility seems to be quite erratic from one generation to the other. I was looking in the autodesk compatibility list, but I fear the quadro K620 will be a bit underpowered for >500mb models, and the K2200 is quite extensive.

So here is my inquiry : we will be running Revit 2015, and I'd like to know if a gtx760/gtx750ti will be compatible with hardware acceleration (I read on other forums some issues about series 9xx maxwell cards so I'm not willing to take the risk).

I'm really looking for experience and users feedback since I cannot afford to make my boss buy a couple of useless GPUs

    Thank you for reading

To stay cheap, stay away from the Quadros....they are nice but pricey. I've got a GTX560ti in my machine, and so far it still does the job... so you should be fine with the 700 series...

Thank you for your answer. In my previous job I had a GTX660, it worked perfectly and I would buy it again today if it was still possible. I want to be sure I will be able to activate the hardware acceleration with the GTX760, so if someone has ever tested it please feel free to talk about it.

I have the 760 and have had some funny issues with 2015. The issues are worth dealing with when you consider the difference in price. They are few and far between but usually are along the lines of ghosting in 3D views... It could be non-existent on 2016 but the disclaimer inside of Revit states the driver is too "new" haha.

I have a 760 (as do tons of Revit users) and it works fine. That being said, there will ALWAYS be little glitches here and there no matter what card you get. The 9 series seems to be settling in little by little, but it's understandable (maybe even advisable) if you want to stick with the 7 series until the 9 series drivers mature.

I've been using the GTX 970 with hardware acceleration turned on with zero problems after reverting to the 344.75 driver. This is with Revit 2016 though...so I'm not sure if it's the same with 2015.
