    Steel column correct length not working with steel connections?

    Hi there,

    Could someone please tell me, how to get the corret "cut length" of a steel column into schedule without making all the families around? It seems that with OOTB steel column family and OOTB steel connections it still cant give me the correct length? The column lenght is 2780mm, but when I put steel connections in, it should decrease to 2658mm (column length - steel connections). But still in schedules it shows the number on 2780. Apparently with steel beams and connections Revit understands it and subtracts connections length from beam length, but columns are different. Why is it so and how to solve it without making all new families but using OOTBs? Would like to attach an image but cant find where to.

    Thanks
    Olav

    Olav;
    Sorry, I can't help you with your column problem, but here's where you Insert an Image into an RFO post.
    Click image for larger version

    You must save the image first, and then Attach it. You can't just Cut and Paste

      DaveP, thanks, but I really cant find even those buttons showed on your image. Forum has changed its design since I last used it and almost every button is in dutch? Which is weird, and I cannot figure out whats the deal. Would like to show a screenshot, but again, dont know where to add it

        I take it you don't WANT to see the web page in Dutch?
        There are some flag icons it the upper right. Perhaps you clicked on one of those by accident.
        If that doesn't reset it (you may need to clear your web cache, too), try the "Settings" at the very top (second word from the right)
        That'll bring you to a "My Settings" menu where you can pick "General Settings" under My Account. If you can't read those, "My Account is the second major section & has a lock icon. General Settings is the second item under that.
        Scroll down on that page, and you should see a Forum Language drop-down near the bottom where you can pick your prefered language
        That same page also has a Forum Skin drop-down. Maybe play with that to see if you can get the icons to show up.
        There should be a row of icons at the top of the "Quick Reply" box where you type your post.

          Thanks again. I had to press weird "full site" button on the bottom of the sheet and everything turned back the way I remembered it. Before it even didnt look like Revit forum, rather than somekind "vBulletin". But thats ok now, thanks again.

          Back to the topic. Added screenshot from my OOTB steel column and connections. It scheduled the wrong length, but columns doesnt have "cut length" as beams does. Any ideas anyone?
