In the view control bar at the bottom of screen select "Reveal Hidden Elements" icon to turn everything on. You can then select elements and choose to either unhide element or unhide category. You can window select all elements and apply changed in bulk if required.

Depends on how you hid them. Click on sunglasses icon (on the bottom of the screen) and choose 'Reset Temporary Hide/Isolate' option, or click on light bulb (next to sunglasses). Hidden elements will be in red. Pick element(s) and choose 'Unhide Element' (or category).

Or, go to Visibility Graphic Overrides and check look if the category you want to unhide is checked off. If so, check it back on.

              Another list of reasons:

May need updating though. Its just the more common ones. There are many obscure reasons an element could be hidden. I've seen someone claim 60+ ways, but I think they have really been a little too specific as many of them are essentially the same.
