Filled region on top of model elements.

Hi all,

I have another problem. I want to bring a masking region in front of a model element.

This is how it looks:


That's how it should look like:


The last one is made by hiding the model element (foundation slab) and drawing filled region instead of it.

Could you repost this without using the Inline Placement, I can't seem to get a bigger view from those (gives me a "not logged in" error)

Lucian, thank you for changing the in-line attachments for uploads.

The problem with your solution is that you are doing this drop in the height of the plaster or finish layer with detail lines. That's not very "BIM", because then this drop will not exist in any other views. The recommended solution in this case is to "model it as you will build it", which is to create that finish and the drop, with, either a thin floor with just those two layers, or with a ceiling. By doing this, all your sections will look correct, without the need to add any detail lines or masking regions.

As for the other part, the vertical piece, check this other thread, where there are different solutions available:

However, if you still want to keep it as a 2D solution, you can get rid of that portion of the slab by using View > Edit cut profile, as shown in this illustration:

Alfred, thank you for your answer.

What I'm trying to do is "simulate" a prefabricated channel for a pipe under the foundation slab. In my section view, that channel is "in front" of the 10cm plain concrete under the foundation slab. You can see that channel "sketched" in ".Plan radier".

Because there where only 2 drawings, I hoped it would take less time to draw the channel with lines then model it in 3D.

So what I was trying to do in the above example, was to "mask" the 10cm plain concrete under the foundation slab with a white band.

Then, see the solution with Edit Cut profile above. Then you can add the line work. Another way to cut that portion is to use a masking region with invisible lines, but maybe the Edit Cut profile solution is better in this case.
