Delta beam Peikko system : somethings existing?

    Hi!!

Someone here knows if a complete family of Delta beam from Peikko existing? And for it's little sister "Peikko beam" (hollow core slab)?

My Delta beam family is somekind of ... preliminary family :banghead:
For the Peikko beam, I've just modified the precast-hollow slab family included in RST.

Comments, helps or ideas are always welcome!!

    Hi Alex,

here's a link you might found interesting. Peikko is providing some stuff, BUT due to firewall policies at work, I never get it work.

after few emails, there was no way to download directly the content, at least a sample file to check the quality of the product (meaning the family quality of course).

I dropped, cause it's not very common here in France. Peikko is still looking for some certifications to the European standards, Eurocode.

The only thing I use today on one of my project are the bottom connections for precast columns, and as I'm not the detailer for the precast elements, I have no family of it, sorry.

About your family, Delta is fine for me, except if you want to have all the hollows modeled....is it useful, I guess not.

I would work on the Peikko beam family so that it connect to Delta beam correctly, at the full depth of the bottom wings. and set the family to behave as if it was steel (structural material type), so you will be able to cut it with a reference plane.

Thinking about that, I will call the local reseller to try to get the families from her (she's a women in fact....).

    stay tune!

      Hi Alex

I've been working on a Delta Beam for a while now, it's pretty detailed, and made for RAC. But have a look at see if you can use it for anything.. It's not completely finished, but anyway

Hi and thanks for fast answer!

Julien, I know for the difficulty to have her family. My boss is in contact with a manager of Peikko and we can't have drawings and families from him not far. It's the same story here for Peikko certifications in Canada. Good and fast way to build, but not standard. I'm now in evening formation for 3 weeks to learn more about family creation. I hope that provides me the possibility to upgrade and made a fine tuning to my Delta beam family "in work". Probably a complex family to come if I want to put all series in the same one.

Kim, thanks for sharing this family with me and even with us. I'll see what I can do with it and how it can help me to fine tune mine, not really finished too.

I think all those parameters values should be exported to a family catalog isn't?
It would use less space in a project...

It's what I have in mind Alexandre, like with steel W, HSS, etc. ... Not so far I hope!!
