    MEP Fabrication Parts 2D Export

    FYI...

When exporting a plan view for 2D DWG, I receive some interesting behavior regarding MEP Fabrication Parts.

If the visual style in Revit is set to Hidden Line, the exported geometry blocks (pipe, duct and associated insulation/liner) will be placed on layer A-DETL-THIN. Turning off this layer allows the line-work within the block to display correctly.

Flex Duct is not affected. Air Terminals are not affected. Just FAB Parts.

The A-DETL-THIN layer is set by whatever line-type your mechanical settings points to in regards to drawing hidden line detail. Mine was set to thin lines (which of course is wrong and I have corrected that).

Additionally, it would appear that blocks for straights and some fittings (along with their respective liner/insulation) are on the hidden line layer, but other fittings and insulation/liner are not.

Still no good path to resolve this issue... No amount of clever lisp routines can fix Revit exporting the blocks to mismatched layers.
