    Push System Type Properties to Newly Adopted Systems - Dynamo?

    When copying/pasting the consultant's elements, I tend to switch all pipe and duct system types to mine, which carry specific graphic, materials, and abbreviation settings. But instead of that, I wondered if I could push my existing system type properties in my model to the newly adopted consultant content. And possibly even rename them (I'd have to first rename my stock systems with a prefix or something to avoid the "duplicate warning").

    Also, currently converting the engineer's pipe and duct types to mine using a schedule but my gut tells me all this switching could be easier through dynamo. Any thoughts on that?

    Also want to switch out all their radius duct elbows among other fittings to mine which have my foreman's preferences. A lot of duct or pipe pieces will get deleted or disconnected due to differences in fitting sizes but I don't care about that now.

    Any thoughts?

    You could automate this, but you would need to make a kind of translation table which says what system type from them equals what system type of yours.
    Same for duct and pipe types. It may take just as long to set up the conversion table as to switch the system/duct types in a schedule, so it would only be worth it if you regularly receive models from a consultant in the same way.

    For Pipes and Ducts you can just make a schedule with them combined by Type, and then switch them all at once in the schedule. Usually this doesnt result in any disconnects (The Nominal connector sizes will be pretty much the same).
    To change all the fittings you can do that by setting the routing preferences correctly, selecting a whole network with TAB, then Re-Apply Type.

    I think there is certainly potential to do something with Dynamo to replace the fittings but it would be quite complicated. I would probably try to make something generic like delete all fittings, get all pipe ends that are within a certain distance and in the same plane, trim everything together to create the new fittings, log/handle errors.

      Thanks! I didnt even know that was there! Just tried it. Works most of the time but for some reason doesnt seem to like sloped pipe.

      Switching out the system types was a pain but it's already done. Still, I dont like that as a workflow. I like the sound of the conversion table. Possibly a series of check boxes like the Revision + Cloud manager does with its interface.

      I anticipate this whole converting the engineers model approach will be happening all the time since the potential for savings is perceived to be very high.
