    Whats the best way to show Architect elements as black line's on a Mechanical View

    Set up view template for Piping Floor Plans.

    Set all architect elements in Model categories to black......nothing.....prints out as a light grey.

    How do i get the architect elements in the floor plans to show darker?

    Thanks

    Adjust your halftone/underlay settings?
    (Manage -> Additional Settings)

      Do not use any one of the three "MEP" View Disciplines (eg: Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical) and instead use Architectural or Coordination. When you use the three MEP View Disciplines, Revit automatically sets all non-MEP objects to a screened halftone line style and there is no overriding it.

        You can get by it....Unchecking the Underlay's "Apply halftone" setting under Manage > Additional Setting > Halftone/Underlay removes the halftoning applied by the Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical discipline settings.

          Good tip, did not know that. While this adds the possibility to remove the automatic override for the MEP View Disciplines, in the MEP world of outputs I do not see where this project-wide change would ever be a feasible option. So, either you keep this setting off, and rework your views to have halftone screening, or you keep this option on, and use alternative View Disciplines.

            You can easily hit halftone on selected dwg imports in the specific view its literally 3 clicks to get into the setting, turn it on/off and exit the VG dialogue.

            VG
            click Imported categories
            click halftone on/off for the specific dwg you wish to manipulate
            click ok

            done.
