does anyone use BIM 360 glue? does it come with BIM360 team?

what is it used for?

Coordinating project models. I believe it is subscription based. I use it on a project but I got an invite from the Contractor so I don't pay for it

That's what I thought it was. Is it it as good or better than navisworks

Our field supers use it to explain and review work in progress. Since its running on an iPad it's easy to carry on site. In the office, or trailer, Navisworks would be the choice.

We have a BIM 360 Glue subscription, and it comes with Navisworks manage 360, fully functioning Navisworks manage, but with the Navisworks model hosted to the cloud, it's quite useful, we get a lot of feedback from clients and Architects when they can look at the model and see things in a 3D environment

Im using on my latest job but we are not paying for it so cant say if its worth the cost, but it is useful. It is basically Navisworks Manage in the cloud. I click on the glue button in Revit it uploads my specified 3D view to the cloud (as an nwc) which can be viewed through a web browser, PC App or Apple App (no android app) within glue you can set us a Merged model (like an nwf linking in all the nwc's) that links all the individual glued models together creating a federated model within this you also set up the clash detection.

Is it it as good or better than navisworks

Its not really about "which one is better" as they are set up to work together, as others have said here. You can "Glue" models from Revit, Autocad, and Navisworks to your Glue project "in the cloud", and then those models can be opened in the Glue app on an iPad, or on the desktop via a desktop installed tool, or a browser. And those Cloud-hosted files can also be opened in Navisworks. Project teams can work in both...and each tool has its advantages. Glue's advantage is that its SIMPLE. The toolbar consists of 8 buttons. That's it. Navisworks on the other hand has more capabilities, but can be intimidating because it has far more toolbars.

I like to think of them like this: Clash detection in Glue is great for design coordination, while clash detection in Navisworks is better suited for construction coordination. BUT Glue can be used during construction to get models from Navisworks into the field, where visual coordination between the model and reality can be very useful, plus the use of Glue on an iPad for communication via mark-ups that are instantly available to the rest of the team.

I asked which one is better from a clash detection point of view as that is all we use navisworks for and glue may be a cheaper option for this? If just as good or better than navisworks

The clash capabilities of Navisworks exceed that of Glue. For instance, there is no way to do a "clearance" clash in Glue. For instance, you cannot set a 2" halo around a selection set of steel for fireproofing that is not modeled. Clash detection in Glue is "simplified clash". More for major building systems, while Navisworks can be used to get "down to the nuts and bolts" so to speak.
