Emergency Light fixture

Morning,
I was trying to create an annotation family to show half shade of the light fixture representing a light fixture on an emergency circuit. I opened up the family for the fixture in question to find no annotation views except for section head, section tail and level head which looks like for creating a detail. I think its a manufacture's family. is still possible to create the half shading for this family??????

You can still add annotations, and may be able to create filled regions in the light itself (I haven't played with lights recently) Not seeing anything within the family just means it hasn't been created/added. If you have a light fixture with that symbology already I suggest opening it up and looking at both fixtures side by side to see how it was created.

I only want to half shade the 2D for the plan to represent an emergency fixture.

Right, so you need to add a filled region to the family to represent that.
