    Job Summary:

    We are currently seeking a Revit Specialist to join our Sacramento Design Technology team. Associate of Arts (AA) degree in architecture (or related field), 5+ years experience in design, drafting, or engineering, proficiency with Revit, strong family creation and maintenance skills, and basic experience with MS Office programs required. Revit Structure and Revit phasing experience preferred, in addition to Adobe (CS5 version).

    Essential Functions:


    • Manage software products, including but not limited to incorporating new version releases and customization of the products.
    • Manage the implementation of supporting software for BIM.
    • Evaluate new BIM software and technologies.
    • Stay informed on best practices for the use of Revit Architecture and BIM.
    • Stay informed on other BIM software and interface with Revit.
    • Installation and support of related BIM software.


    • Maintenance of the software template files to assure standards.
    • Provide support for plotting and electronic file submissions.
    • Automate routines in BIM to support standards and productivity.
    • Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards of all shop drawings produced.
    • Assist in developing and enforcing BIM documentation and work flow process standards.


    • Provide hardware and network support as it relates to BIM production.
    • Support the BIM technology needs of our satellite offices.
    • Troubleshoot problems.
    • Serve as a liaison with corporate technology support staff.


    • Provide Revit Architectural fundamentals and intermediate training to staff.
    • Conduct internal continuing education Revit Architectural training sessions.
    • Provide technical orientation to New Hires regarding BIM tools.
    • Test new hire skills in BIM.
    • Maintain high level of competency of software through continued use and training.

    Project Interface:

    • Assist project teams in BIM project setup.
    • Create new and edit existing Revit families in response to project needs.
    • Help resolve BIM design issues.
    • Manage and distribute coordinated digital documents to the project team.
    • Coordinate hardware upgrades with IT.
    • Communicate with subcontractors to receive, coordinate, and update all electronic models.

    • Cost Estimating
    • Specification Management
    • Integrated Project Delivery
    • Digital Prototyping and Digital Fabrication

    Involvement with Industry Organizations:

    • Autodesk University
    • AUGI
    • Local User Groups

    Knowledge, Skill, and Experience:

    • AA degree in architecture (or related field) required.

    • 5+ years production experience in design, drafting, or engineering required.

    • Proficiency with Revit required.

    • Strong family creation and maintenance skills required. This includes the ability to create families from our template, edit existing families, and maintain standards within our families.

    • Basic experience with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) required.

    • Basic experience with Adobe (CS5 version) preferred.

    • Experience with Revit phasing preferred.

    • Experience with Revit Structure preferred.
