Complex Revit family

Hello everyone

I watched a video showing a complex family without explanation. I tried to do it, but without result. Is there someone who can explain it please?

I think the real questions is: Where do you buy doors and windows like that? and are you seriously gonna use those in a project?

hm, interesting thing.

on his blog http://kerkenis.blogspot.com/p/revit-cannot.html he mentions: "It’s possible to do it in-place, but there's no normal method to make family !!!!"

you could do the curved windowframes in the family, but there are difficulties to get a curved hosting wall into the harcoded window family template, to build a curved opening. so the inplace way seems the only successful at the moment.

You dont´t need a curved host/wall in the family... Just need a few curved ref. lines for the radius, and a formula to calculate the correct placement

The attached is just to prove that it´s possible... but would still like to know where to buy such a door :beer:

I think Bilbo Baggins had a couple of those doors speced out for his new Hobbit house in The Shire.

Correct me if I´m wrong, but I believe that the Hobbit doors are circular, and not curved

At least that´s how my neighbors got their new (Hobbit) entrance door made. The handcrafted hardware was even made by the German blacksmith who did the original work for the movies

Well yeah...the OLD ones are circular, everyone knows that. The ones for Bilbo's new place (currently under construction) are curved.

Ohh... didn´t know about the one under construction But then again, I´m probably the only person left on the planet who haven´t seen any of the movies

kudo klaus, that way it works.
tried it as well, but instead of a circle sector, I used an annulus sector shaped void for the opening, wich breaked for some reason.

I remember rokoko style furniture having round doors.

Bramantes Tempietto could be another candidate using that kind of stuff. At least for the niches, as the doors are flat, for what I can see from the photpgraphs.
