Where did the group panel go?

I happen to be working on another computer today, and I have this strange situation: I click on a group. The Group panel appears. I click on Edit group. Then the Group panel disappears. I do my changes, but now I can´t finish my changes because the Group panel is gone. The only way out is to click Undo to escape from the group editing mode, with my changes still on my to-do list. Has anyone seen this, or knows a cure for this?

I've seen posts about this.
Evidently, it's a "tear-away" panel. It's hidden somewhere. Once you find it, I think you can drag it back up to your ribbon and it should stay there.
Until then, have you tried FG to Finish Group?

OOTB the "Edit Group" is floating... have you looked behind the project browser and/or the properties dialog ?

It actually gets lost. Its a known issue. The fix:

Use a keyboard shortcut to finish the group for this time (so you dont lose your work). Then: Run the UIState restore .dat file that is available from the Factory, which will reset the entire UI including QAT. Then dock the group panel in the ribbon so it doesnt happen again...

Had the link to the Revit 2011 - Reset UI.vbs handy, so there you go Alfredo. (Guess it´s the same thing as the one Aaron mentioned)

Following Aaron´s advice, I went to look for the shortcut to finish groups, and it was "FG", (Edit: Thanks to Leannez, too!) now I can type that and be done with my changes. The Group panel is still gone, but now I can search for the restore.dat or the resetui.vbs files to fix this permanently. Thank you, guys! Gotta love this forum. I got my problem solved in some few minutes!

Its the .vbs... I was getting confused, what it does it restore the UIstate.dat file. You can also wipe that file out entirely and it should do the same thing.

Thanks a lot, Aaron. What I did was this: I went to the link provided by Munkholm. There, it said that I had two options: 1) I could manually delete UIState.dat , (but I ran a search for that file, and it was not found) or 2) I could let the script do the fix. So I did option 2, I followed the prompts, restarted Revit, and problem solved.
