Elevation Tags and Levels

Is there a way to create a "level" in an interior or exterior elevation that will only show up in that view?

Currently I create a level w/out a plan, give it a name, and have to go into all of my other elevations and turn it off (giant pain if you have to add one tag and have a lot of elevations). I also have to give it a unique name.

The current method does not work if I am creating elevations,
example: to use the elevation tag "T.O. Window" on several different floors.

I think you could create a scope box and assign that level to that scope box.

Will this work for naming the levels as well? Or will each level still have to have a unique name?

If you are working in a Worksharing type project, central on the network and local on your computer, I would create a workset that is set to off in all views, just uncheck "Visible in all views". Then create/move that object to that workset and you are rocking and rolling.

If you are working in a standalone file I would create a filter that looks for that level name is equal to... and apply it to the views thru visibility graphics and/or create a view template and apply that to all views you want that object off in.

I am not sure I fully understand your question. The scope box would allow for the level to only show in the elevation. You would still need to give the level a unique name. Oh, you want to use levels for the T.O. Windows. You may want to use spot elevation tags for that.

Sorry I went off the deep end in a different direction...
Yes I create T.O. Window, T.O. Conc... with the Spot Elevation tool You may need to adjust the Symbol to match the one you are using on your Level Line, but it works great!

Ah spot elevation that's what I need!
I assume that after some tweaking I will be able to type in the text I want above the line and have the elevation below?

I have not found a way to have the ability to type text above the line as part of the spot elevation. You can change the elevation number to below the line, you can find that in the type properties - "text Location" above or below the leader.

Is there a way to modify the family and add an instance parameter that is then added to the label? Or do Spot elevation families function differently?
