    How i can make wall go along stair stringer ?

    Hi, i have stair leading to underground now i want to have wall attached to stair . how can this be done? i thought about edit profile but that is not professional or accurate way to do it !!
    i am willling to hear suggestion for this
    thank you.

    I think the only way is to edit the profile, stairs can't be joined to anything. But somebody will correct me if i'm wrong

      Draw a Ref Plane at the bottom edge of the stringer in an elevation, and align and lock the Ref Plane to the stringer. then use the Attach Wall tool to attach the top of the wall to the Ref Plane.

      Then if the stair changes, the ref plane changes, and the wall remains attached.

        Does the reference plane keep itself constrained to the stringer when the slope of the stairs change?

          Well, IIRC it *used* to....but just tested in 2012 and it breaks the constraint. So no, it doesn't. You will need to remove the constraint and re-align it to the stringer if the stair changes.

            And what if we draw the top boundary in edit profile with pick line, and lock the profile to the stinger? Is it the same like with a reference plane?
