Print Visible Portion Of Current Window

Can someone check and see if this is working in RAC2012 when printing from a 3D view?

I can't get mine to work for some reason. See the screen shots. I even minimized RAC to one screen because, sometimes, having it on multiple screens messes this up. It still didn't work.

Are you printing or exporting an image? I was able to export an image an hour or so ago with no problems.

Just ran a print and it worked fine as well to our Brother 8x11 printer. Is it a setting in the printer options maybe?

Make sure you actually use the Windows GUI "window"--i.e. only have the one view open, and not maximized, so you can drag the edges of the open window
like you are using it as a "zoom window" rectangle. ( Kind of hard to explain. )

Like Cliff suggests...your basically making the view window be your "crop region"...You can still have multiple views open though, they just cannot be maximized.

Nope, still doing it.

I've maximized Revit itself to one screen. I've maximized and minimized my view window. Same thing. Tried one window and multiple windows open. Same thing.
Zoomed way in, zoomed way out. Same thing.

Dan, if you're simply trying to print out a view, try Tech Smith's Jing. It's a free screen capture app & works great. If you upgrade for something like $15, it's even greater. BTW - I get no commission from them.

Umm....remember that 3D Views are to scale.....so if your view is setup for 1/8"=1'-0" on an 11x17 sheet and you scale at 100% it probably won't fill up the sheet...

Change your Zoom in Print Setup to "Fit to Page"...

The problem I find is that neither Fit to Page nor Visible Portion really do what you want, i.e. give you the largest image that will fit. In both cases you get a metric crap ton of white space, which is really frustrating.

Depending on the needs, I either make a working view and sheet, which offers the benefit of being able to exactly recreate the print later. Or I use the Snipping Tool in Windows 7. The Snipping Tool does 95% of what I need for class handouts and BIM Manuals and such. Will probably upgrade my old copy of SnagIt as it does some nifty stuff that CT doesn't.

I do this quite often too....create a blank titleblock of the size I want to print to so I can crop and scale as needed...
