    Metal Panel Wall help

    All,

I need to create a metal panel wall with different sized staggered panels, and colors.

i used the curtainwall family and changed the glazing to metal panel and it seem it was working ok.
but it didn't because it is showing all the curainwall joints/mullion in floor plan.
I thought about using Basic Wall with reveals but it is not going to let me have the different color for each panels.

    Have any idea everyone?

Think the curtain wall works best....I just finished a project with 3 story walls of multi-colored panels and it was all done with curtain walls for the panel thickness....I used regular walls for the structure.

Already tried the Split face and Paint.
but the split face doesn't let me put the reveals between split face line.
and i need the reveals for rendering reason.

You used two walls to create one metal panel wall?
        interesting.

What you need to do is adjust the Mullions also. Make it the Reveal profile you need. In plan view you can turn them off if you want...
MPwuzhere meant that he used a wall to model the construction where the panels are placed on.

Yeah, basically if a wall type would show paneling as part of its structure I would leave it out...It would still show up in my wall details (2D) as having the paneling for tagging, but I would model that as the curtain wall instead.

It seems working. But what do you do when there's a window? Window family will not going to cut openings for second wall.

You'll need to use the "Edit Profile" tool on the CW... It's a pain in the butt, even if you lock the sketch lines to the window edges.

Yep, you have to edit the profile...do the same if you have any kind of opening or different shape of wall.

Is there any way to solve this without making 2 walls? It seems little too complicated.
