key schedules and parameters and WTF?

Three parameters: Floor finish, base finish, wall finish.

All three can be put into a key schedule. all three can be used in a tag.

you cannot add shared parameters to a key schedule, you cannot use project parameters in tags.

how do these three things defy what i understand to be the rules of revit. and if they are breaking them, how do i break them too.

i would like to create a room tag that calls out the finish of an accent wall. I have one that does the floor, base, and walls, and the info comes from the key schedule. i tried making an SP but couldn't add it to the Room Style Key schedule, i tried to create a Parameter to add to the Key schedule but it only allows PPs. What am i doing wrong?

    Sadly, you're doing nothing wrong.
Even more sadly, Revit just doesn't do Shared Parameters in a Key Schedule
I'd encourage you to go upvote this Revit Idea

but, triply sadly, the Idea has been "UNDER REVIEW" for 3 years now.

So, any idea how i could go about accomplishing the task?

I don't understand how these parameters can be used in both a key schedule and tags.

There has to be a way to duplicate their abilities.

You can use Dynamo to push the parameters around, but you need to run it to update.
