Revit revision settings

Hi,

I have been requested by a client to have my number numerical revisions as 2 digits ie. 01, but the default for the revit revisions tool is as a single digit 1.
Does anybody know if it is possible to change this in the settings and if so please show me how.

Sorry Matt - Believe that the number sequence is hardcoded into the program. You could however create a new custom project parameter, but it would not be "smart", so you´d need to manually update that parameter for each sheet.
I´d ask the client to explain the value of the 0, and if he can´t provide a reasonable answer, then proceed with the 1 digit version.

Yep, nothing to do about it. Same problem with sheet numbering: this also lets out the prefix 0 (01 will have a automated 2 as following number). Very irritating.

I don't have this problem with sheet numbering, tried with one "0" prefix, then two......

The other annoying thing is this. Some clients want to, for whatever reason, use 0 (zero) as a milestone issue. Alas, Revit can't use 0 as the revision number either.

I'm not very experienced with the use of revisions in general, but I've heard of some people formatting their revision schedules differently so that the "Issued To" is where the revision number goes. Of course, this necessitates manually entering the revision numbers in the "Issued To" box but I think the intention was to be able to use different descriptions for the same revision number...not sure.

Anyways, just like anything else, if you don't need one of the parameters such as the "issued to" in this case, you could use it to serve a different purpose which in this case would be your revision number.

This is exactly what we do. We like this option much better than the automated Revit way, it gives us much more flexibility.

I'm sorry, not being complete here. I use this syntax:

DO-01 Sheet Name (and further) for building permit drawings
CO-01 Sheet Name (and further) for structural drawings
And so on.
Following numbers will be DO-2, CO-2, and so on.

The Revision Sequence is an integer parameter, which allows us to create a calculated value (text) in the Revision Schedule, such as "Rev #", to make 1 be "01", 2 be "02", etc. (or 1 be "0"). The Revision Sequence will be tied to the custom definition by the formula. Then you hide the actual Revision Number, and show "Rev #" in the schedule, instead.

In the same way, it is possible to create new columns in the Revision Schedule, such as "Approved by" or "Responsible", using calculated values and formulas.
